Announcement: At Safe Harbor, our top priority is the health and safety of our clients and staff members. We are taking every precaution to minimize exposure risk, in accordance with CDC guidelines and the recommendations of local public health agencies. Our teams have implemented specific coronavirus protocol for our campuses in order to not only protect our current clients and staff, but also those looking to start their recovery journey. As of April 27, 2020 we are, once again, accepting new clients at our locations which include Memphis, Erin, Bucksnort, & Jefferson County, TN and Little Rock, AR. Any new client must have a recommendation form filled out before being considered. This can be filled out by a family member, government agency, church, etc.
Our protocol includes such measures:
Revised Intake Screening
Separated living for new clients that are accepted into our program
Thorough cleaning and sanitation of campuses and supplies on a regular basis
Asking staff to remain home if they exhibit any symptoms of coronavirus
Continued monitoring of all clients’ health
Reducing the amount of close contact among clients and staff
Regardless of your location, recovery with a more controlled environment may be a safer place than your current living situation.
We are here to help and are committed to supporting our community during these times.

It's taught me how to set boundaries and stay humble about everything in life, the good and the bad. The wise man changes his mind the fool will never, there can be no progress without change and no growth without renewal. It has given me the tools I need to get closer to God. Don't worry about anything, pray about everything. Self-discipline is self love, it's a great place to recover from bad decisions and get closer to God."

I walked in and asked about the requirements to stay. The staff was so helpful. this program is helping give me a new beginning and I appreciate the opportunities it has given me so far."

I tried looking for places to stay. I tried looking for work. It seemed like every step forward resulted in two steps back. The drug abuse and depression took its toll on me. I had to do something different. In a desperate search for help, my family brought me to Safe Harbor. My first 3 months in the program, I found myself angry, upset, and constantly wanting to bend the rules. What a difference a few months can make! I have money in my savings now. I am employed, sober, and fall to sleep each night with a full belly. Safe Harbor has taught me the value of patience, sacrifice, and perseverance. In a nutshell, thank you Safe Harbor for being a vital anchor in my life!"

Testimony Tuesday: Leland Spencer Intake pic - 09/25/2020 Current pic - 10/26/2020 "Coming to Safe Harbor was a wise decision for me. I had graduated the program in January 2020. I did remain clean and sober but I started to feeling like I was going back to some of my old habits. So I came back to Safe Harbor to obtain more of what helped me gain sobriety. One thing I learned that I still use today is the thought circle. What I think I speak, What I speak I act on. My actions determine my lifestyle. My lifestyle determines my future. I also keep a set of 84 coping skills in my back pocket at all times. Thank you Safe Harbor for being there for me!"
Testimony Tuesday: Ray Shipley Intake pic - 07/06/2020 Current pic - 10/12/2020 “I started doing drugs at a very early age and began selling them at 16. By 18, I was arrested and sent to prison for the first time. I came to Safe Harbor of Memphis three months ago after serving another term in prison. Since arriving here my life has changed tremendously. God has removed my desire to use drugs and alcohol. I am working a good job and growing spiritually every day. I wake up each day grateful to be alive.”

Testimony Tuesday: Henry Heard Intake pic - 07/08/2020 Current pic - 10/06/2020 "Praise be to God, My name is Henry Heard and I'm an ex-drug addict. I began smoking what is called crack cocaine in 1987. My very first time trying it I was hooked. God only knows that it's had a hold on me throughout my life. It brought a lot of hardship into my life including imprisonment, loss of material items...but most importantly, my wife and kids whom, I love and miss dearly. You know God tells us in His word that he who laugh now will cry later. When I first saw someone under the influence of crack cocaine, I laughed, not knowing that was about to become life as I knew it. Even after being saved, I still fell to the wayside. I found myself many nights, after backsliding, walking home crying like a little child as I was reminded of God's word."

Testimony Tuesday: Keith Ridgeway Intake pic - 04/22/2020 Current pic - 09/28/2020 “When I first came to Safe Harbor in April I was lost and hopeless. I started drinking at the age of 14 and found heroine at the age of 22. Since then my life had been spiraling out of control for over 2 decades. I was also facing some pretty serious criminal charges when I enrolled at Safe Harbor of Memphis. Safe Harbor has brought God into my life and the way he has moved inside me over the last six months is hard to even explain. This Has been the longest period of sobriety since that first drink I took at the age of 14. All of my charges will be dropped upon my graduation from here. The hardest part of my recovery has been the peace, strength, and love for others, that I have found by my growing faith and dependence on God. I honestly don't know where I would be be without Safe Harbor. “

I am looking forward to all that the future holds while working for this amazing organization." - Suzanne
Testimony Tuesday: William Mettler Intake - 09/03/2020
"Today I want to thank God! In my not so distant past I wasn't really hearing what was being said to me about my drug problem. I was listening but not hearing. I used to think there wasn't any difference between the two, a person can hear what's being said but not actually listen to the under written words. A couple of years ago I reached a point where I was going and how I was getting there. I believe I started hearing what I was listening too. The serenity prayer became more of use then I'd ever imagined. Accepting I had a problem was the hardest part. Finding the courage to start chaining the little things was not so easy either, but I stuck with it. I had decided to be honest, with myself and start with the smallest things, like keeping my word to my family and myself. Not breaking promises, keeping my mind clear and so fourth.
This road isn't easy, because the promises got bigger and my sobriety is getting longer. It is easy to make an excuse but harder to be on time or point. This is when the biggest promise I made to myself and others to do whatever it took to come home and stay there. I had to turn myself in and go to jail, which was the first step. Not long ago I was allowed to restart my probation and was released here to Safe Harbor. It's the next step in my Recovery. I am grateful God has brought me here. I can now plan to see my family and call and speak with them, things are better already! I am still here but will have a full time job, a little money to get started on a house, truck, etc. I thank God for showing me this path."

Testimony Tuesday: Marqui Easton Intake pic - 05/29/2020 Current pic - 07/20/2020 “My name is Marqui Easton and this is my testimony: It all started when I was 25 years of age. When I first started on this road of addiction it was all fun and games for me. I would just smoke a Lil weed every now and then not knowing that it would lead me down a path of self-destruction, heart-aches, and pain. It got to the point that weed was not satisfying my urges so I decided one day to try powder and my life would never be the same after that first hit. I would spend the next several years going downhill and almost got to the point where I was on the verge of losing everything and everyone I loved in this life. As time went on I developed a habit of hanging around the wrong crowd of people. I knew that I wanted better for my life for myself I just did not know how to get it that is until the day I came to Safe Harbor and once again my life took a drastic change but for the better this time. I now feel I have a purpose in life and that I can remain clean and sober once I graduate from the program. and I also know that I couldn't have it unless I had God in my life Whom I praise and worship daily. I thank God every day for allowing me this opportunity to get my life back together and for Safe Harbor Of Memphis and all it has taught me and provided me on my new journey in life.”

“First of all, I want to thank God for Safe Harbor. It’s hard for me to find the words to really explain just how much Safe Harbor really means to me and just how much Safe Harbor has saved my life, but I will do my best. Due to me not being able to read and write I was not accepted into a lot of programs. Safe Harbor was the only program that would even give me a chance and went out of their way to make sure that I understood, and even went as far as to sit down and read every single page of the intake paperwork to me, and made sure that I understood what I was coming into. I have never met a group of people like the staff at Safe Harbor of Memphis. They did not put me down, talk about me or ask me to leave due to my disability, as so many other places have in my life. They made me feel comfortable and even gave me a job answering the phones. I will always be in debt to Safe Harbor for believing in me and helping me change my life.” “You’re not disabled by the disabilities you have, you are ABLED by the ABILITIES you have.”
"Before coming to Safe Harbor I had no people skills and did not know how to manage my money at all. The little time that I have been here I have not only learned people skills but I have also learned the importance of managing my money. Also, this is the closest relationship I have had with God in my entire life."

Memorial Day Weekend 2020! Memorial Day Dinner included pull pork sandwiches, home made potatoes salad, home made baked beans and home made banana pudding!
"I came to Safe Harbor of Memphis after countless years of battling cocaine and alcohol addiction. I finally realized that I'm getting too old to constantly keep going in this revolving circle of my addiction, therefore I took the initiative to call and ask for the much needed help, and I'm striving hard to abide by the rules and regulations. I've learned my triggers and how my past trauma has led to my drug use and how to deal with these issues and problems if any may arise. I will use these coping skills I've learned and apply them to my everyday life, so that I might be successful with my sobriety knowing that this will be a day to day. So I'll take it one day at a time and thank God each day for one more day sober... Praise God."

Testimony Tuesday: Marshall Hill Intake pic - 02/14/2020 Current pic - 04/14/2020
"My name is Marshall Hill. I arrived at Safe Harbor on 02/14/2020. I have now been enrolled in the program for 60 days. For me the program has been very helpful in helping me to get a better understanding of not only my addictions, but it has also allowed me to learn a lot about myself, both good and bad.
One of the greatest assets to the program is that it is faith-based and it also has a back to work program that helps me to learn the necessary tools that I will need once I graduate the program.
Safe Harbor has helped me to get my mind and focus back on track so now I feel that I have a purpose in this world. I want to say thank you to all the Safe Harbor staff and for this program. Because of it I will never be the same.
If you are in need of a good place that will help you in anyway they can, I would strongly recommend Safe Harbor of Memphis."

Testimony Tuesday: Joshua Bailey Intake pic - 01/29/2020 Current pic - 04/07/2020 "My name is Joshua C. Bailey. I entered the program in January of this year. I was on the verge of losing everything in my life. I had no hope and was tired of the way that I was living. I not only had drug problems, I was going down a path that led me to get shot several times and I knew that if I continued down this path it would only lead to me being in prison for the rest of my life or death. Safe Harbor has not only helped with understanding why I used, it has given me the opportunity to get my life back on track with God and given me hope once again."
Testimony Tuesday: Emmanuel Thomas Intake pic - 01/22/2020 Current pic - 03/23/2020 "It all started when I was 16 years of age. When I started to experiment with weed, because of problems with my mom and dad getting divorced and him becoming an addict. As time went on I developed a habit of hanging around the wrong crowd of people, always ending me up in jail and as time moved on for me I also graduated to going to prison. I went to prison 3 times and the last time I went I had a revelation. I knew that I wanted better for my life and I also know that I couldn't have it unless I had God in my life Whom I praise and worship daily and also being of service to my brothers.I just want to say that Jesus gets all the Glory for making this happen in my life."
Testimony Tuesday: Maurice Henderson Intake pic - 02/07/2020 Current pic - 03/17/2020 "Safe Harbor has taught me so many things since coming in over a month ago. I have learned how to be patient, how to deal with life on life terms, and how to allow God to take care of my many concerns and thoughts. I am very grateful for the staff at Safe Harbor of Memphis for showing me tough love and for all the helpful advice, love and support as I continue to maintain this life of sobriety. The classes have helped me by giving me the necessary tools that I need to fight this demon known as addiction by proving me with helpful insights about myself, also known as character defects. I am learning things about myself that I have never known before."

Testimony Tuesday: Curtis Shephard Intake pic - 02/17/2020 Current pic - 03/03/2020 "It all started back when I was using crack cocaine years ago. I was a benger and what that means is I would do good for a long period and then I would relapse and would lose everything that I had over a weekend of pleasure. This has been going on in my life for a long time and I can't seem to stop. Now that I am here at Safe harbor for my 5th time in over 3 years, which 3 of those times I graduated and now I know that I have to do some things different in order to be successful in my recovery. The first thing is to get a real relationship with God. I have been reading my bible and listening to Pastor Charles and now I am able to see things different. I pray for a different outcome this time because I believe that God wants me to be clean and sober and I want to be clean."

Testimony Tuesday: Cody Brown Intake pic - 12/12/2019 Current pic - 03/02/2020 "I started drinking when I was eight years old. Me and my brothers were in my fathers shed and we found some beer so we tried it and it made me feel very sick so I didn't do any more until I was 12. It made me feel good so I thought and as I got older being with my friends we started to drink very heavily and we all graduated to moonshine and vodka. Then I started to play football and stopped my 11th grade year, me and my Grandmother was in a car wreck and she died. That's when I really was drinking very heavily everyday. I dropped out of school now I'm drinking more I have lost all my friends. I started to go to jail and my 3rd time I did 1 year in jail and I got out and got into a serious relationship and ended up having a child together. We got Married and I stayed clean for 3 years then we started having problems. I was depressed all the time so I started drinking again and lost my family. Now that I am here at Safe Harbor I have learned patience and prayer that changes things and I'm truly fighting to have stability in my life again through God who has been keeping me and my family."
Testimony Tuesday: Bobby Hill Intake pic - 10/19/2019 Current pic - 02/24/2020 "The last 19 years of my life was spent struggling to get out of prison. I thought a few times I would end up killing someone and have to spend the rest of my life in prison, until I gave God a try at changing me and saving my life. I had already tried drugs, gangs and the ways of the world so I went to church asking Jesus to forgive me for my sins. I tried to live by the instructions that the Bible gave me, I went to parole and everyone said I would never make it but I put it in Gods hands. They granted me parole and made me come to Safe Harbor. At first I was angry because they were not letting me go straight home but as I worked the program everything started to fall in place. Now I'm working a good job and have my family back in my life, money saved up and a real relationship with God. What started out making me angry turned out to be a blessing. I thank God that he allowed me another chance at life and I pray he blesses me and everyone in the program."
Testimony Tuesday: Andy Martin Intake pic - 02/11/2020 Current pic - 02/17/2020 "This is my testimony:My name is Andy Martin and I'm a Alcoholic.I started drinking at a very early age, actually at the age of 14. I drank and would sneak around my parents consuming alcohol behind their backs. The point and place I'm at now is much better than on the streets of Memphis. I have been in Safe Harbor program for around a week now and have been doing wonderful. However, I actually checked into safe Harbor for safety. It has helped me to also get closer to God and hopefully soon find a better job. The program has also kept me sober and from being homeless and is really a great program . I'm very appreciative of the staff and other brothers in the program P.S. THANKS"

Testimony Tuesday: Courtney Browder Intake pic - 01/10/2020 Current pic - 02/10/2020 “My name is Courtney Browder and this is my Testimony: I'm 29 years old an looking back over my life these last 30 days, I was a wreck. I was selling meth and doing cocaine and gang banging at the same time. I thought that I was living a wonderful lifestyle til God sat me down so I could listen to what he was trying to tell me. I was moving way too fast not knowing that I was hurting everyone that was around me and the ones who loved me the most. My life was on the verge of being cut short due to the drug use and hustling in the streets. I stopped using and went back to the Gang life and it lead me back to using drugs again. When I went to jail all my gang buddies were no were to be found to give me the help I desperately needed. These 30 days have been a Blessing And a eye opener. I'm not around my old friends, I have gotten a better bond with my Mother and I can have a real conversation with her. I'm a little more focused on my life these days and trying to have a better relationship with God this is something I didn't have before. Thanks to Safe Harbor for giving me a chance to grow in this process of life. I was messed up when I got here and this place is helping me change every day.”
Testimony Tuesday: Nicholas Callahan Intake pic - 11/17/2019 Current pic - 02/03/2020 “Well I started out smoking pot at the age of 11 just because I thought it was cool and was trying to fit in with all the others, and it got worse and worse as time went on. I also started to drink beer with friends at parties and then the pills came along with the beer. It wasn't long after that I was introduced to meth, the devil drug and I just couldn't stop. This drug took complete control of my life. There was period where my family intervened and got me help but it didn't last long. The only thing I hadn't tried was God, so I started praying and believing that God will take this demon out of my life and he did. Now I am here at Safe Harbor and getting a better relationship with God on a daily basis.”

Testimony Tuesday: Marcell Sangster Intake pic - 06/20/2019 Current pic - 12/30/2019 “The truth be told I've always had a vision to be great, a leader, provider. But coming to Safe Harbor my vision was blurry. I was lost and tired, fearful, depressed, homeless. I've slept outside, ran away from my responsibility, my environment, traveling from state to state thinking that I could live better and do better. But things only got worse not knowing the big problem was myself and my addiction. I've stole, lied, cheated and most of all a total monster, it was my addiction. But there was always something in me the whole time, which was God, my Lord and savior's voice, whispering to me go back home you can't run all your life. So I came back to Safe Harbor to get help that I needed. In my journeys I was destined to want more out of life than a rough lifestyle of misery. Thanks to Safe Harbor, The Chaplain, IOP, The Staff all of this helped me renew my mind, body, heart, and soul. I'm no longer fearful, depressed, or homeless. I can now trust the process, continue to take baby steps and let God order my foot steps and use the tools Safe Harbor gave me to deal with in life. I am very thankful and grateful for Safe Harbor Program because this really works.”
Testimony Tuesday: Jonathon Moore Intake pic - 11/14/2019 Current pic - 12/23/2019 “My name is John Moore. When I first came to Safe Harbor I had a very negative attitude and was mad with the world. But after taking the time to settle in and get to know more about the program and giving the program a chance it has made a big difference in my attitude as well as in my life. The program has helped me change not only how I view and feel about myself but it has also had a major impact on how I view and treat others around me. Due to the classes and the support from the staff at Safe Harbor of Memphis I have learned new ways of dealing with my everyday struggles in life and how to communicate my concerns and problems instead of holding them in. Before coming to Safe Harbor I was living day by day trying to make ends meet but since being here I now see that there is light at the end of the tunnel for me. I look forward to going to work every day something that I did not have to look forward to in the past. I have also started to believe in myself self and now I feel that God has a purpose and a plan for my life.
Testimony Tuesday: James Echols Intake pic - 8/13/2019 Current pic - 12/16/2019 “This is my testimony. Hello reader my drug of choice was Alcohol. I had my first drink when I was 16 years of age. I got it underneath my Uncles car seat. It started out to be fun and having good times with friends on Fridays after high school games with other players. I continued on partying all through college while playing sports. Not knowing I was becoming powerless after each drink of Alcohol. I was home for summer break from college and I caught my first DUI. I got a slap on the wrist. Within that same summer 2 months later I got another DUI and I got another slap on the wrist, still in denial that I was powerless when I drink. Since then I have had 4 other DUI’s and still in denial. Until 12/22/2015 was my last DUI and by the Grace of God he Delivered me from Alcohol. Although I had a long battle with the court system and after 4 years of going to court they finally had a judgement that I come to Safe Harbor and this was a good thing that I agreed on and would not change it for nothing in this world to God be the Glory”

Testimony Tuesday: Ray Joyce Intake pic - 06/17/2019 Current pic - 12/3/2019 "My name is Ray Joyce and this is my Testimony 12/2/2019: It all started when I was 16 and I had been introduced to cocaine from 2 of my friends from Nashville, they had bought it. I mean I had never tried this before I began using and selling the drug . I thought that I was doing good, so I thought and time past on and I went to jail for selling. I started looking at what was going on in my life. This drug had me hooked and I was using all the time. I was depressed all the time. My family didn't want me around. Now things are better. I came to Safe Harbor through the grace of God who has carried me all these years. I always keep God first in my days. I have to do this thing one day at a time. I'm not perfect I just want to be better so I can be a good father to my children."
Thanksgiving 2019 A very special thank you to Apostle Hope and his church members for preparing and serving Thanksgiving dinner to our Guys!
Testimony Tuesday: Zachery Smith Intake pic - 11/5/2019 Current pic - 11/25/2019 "Now that I think back, my addiction started way before I realized it after doing heroin. I was raised in a southern Baptist conservative family. I was baptized when I was 5 years of age. The church that I was raised in had a preacher that didn't sit right with me. I was taught fear and eternal damnation, if I didn't believe exactly what was told that I would be going to hell. What I was taught I ran from and that was spiritual practices. I started smoking weed and drinking at the age of 13. I never suffered any consequences from using until I started to using hard drugs. I was kicked out of school in the 11th grade for smoking weed. After high School I started to use even harder drugs. I was introduced to Heroin and this was a nightmare that I could not get rid of. I overdosed 17 times and by the grace of God I am still here. I've been in and out of recovery for a while. Now that I review my life consciously of the here and now and the acceptance of my past. I have come to know a peace that I could never imagine and my relationship God is Beautiful. I've learned to appreciate things that I used to hate. Thank God for AA and NA another chance at life."
Testimony Tuesday: Harley Calvert Intake pic - 10/31/2019 Current pic - 11/18/2019 "I started out at a early age, I was 12 years of age when this nightmare started. I was in school in the 6th grade when I was introduced to Marijuana and I quickly got tired of that high and started using prescription pain pills and also fell madly in love with xanax and valium. I went through 13 years of hell. During all those years I stole from my parents. I robbed people that I didn't even know. I had been arrested 29 times at the age of 18. There was this time not too long ago when my parents let me come back home to stay and they had to leave town for a few days and I was there alone. I stole money from my little brothers piggy bank and that was the last time I did something like that because I hurt him and my Mom and Dad. They also had me locked up for this and I am grateful for what they have done because now I see God in all this and Now I am at Safe Harbor in IOP getting it together. I now know that I can't do this alone and the only person that can is Jesus."
November 2019 Employee Spotlight - Admissions Coordinator, Joshua Jones Date of Hire: September 16, 2019 "My name is Joshua Jones. I am 38 years old, but was 24 years old when I first became a client in Safe Harbor of Nashville in 2005 when it was Lighthouse Mission Ministries. I came in broke, busted and on the verge of losing everything that I have ever loved in this life, including my own life. I had no family or friends, and no sense of direction or purpose. Thanks to the Director at that time, Rick Bryant, and the outstanding leadership of the corporate office, including but not limited to Pastor Kyle Bennett, Pastor Brad, my lifelong friend Kenny Lane, and the staff of Safe Harbor of Nashville that saw something in me that I did not see in myself. At that time I was given the opportunity to become part of a great legacy."
What is your reason for working with Safe Harbor? "I work for Safe Harbor because Safe Harbor was able to reach me through the power of the Highest and I love helping other people overcome the same obstacles and addictions that I, myself, have had to face over the years."

Testimony Tuesday: Michael Matthews Intake pic - 08/21/2019 Current pic - 11/11/2019 "My name is Michael Matthews and this is my testimony: About 3 Months ago, before entering Safe Harbor program, I was lost out in the world. I couldn't keep a job. I wasn't eating. All I wanted to do was end my life, drinking was my choice and it got completely out of control. My life was unmanageable and someone told me about Safe Harbor. So I came and I felt a little ashamed at first, but I was met by some good brothers that showed me love. I mean the love of God and that meant something to me and now I have professed Jesus Christ the lord over my life."
Testimony Tuesday: Bradley McLean Intake pic - 09/04/2019 Current pic - 10/21/2019 "My name is Bradley McLean and this my testimony. The beginning of my drug use was at the age of 14, I was using alcohol and smoking marijuana, at first getting high was fun but later on in my life it wasn't. One of the reasons things took a turn for the worst is I had been introduced to Meth and for a full decade I was on this roller coaster ride that I didn't know how to get off of. In this process I lost friends and my family had began to accept that I was an addict. And the only thing I know is that God started to do things in my life and that was sending me to jail. During this time in jail I got closer to God. Now that I'm out I have learned so many things from God and I'm so thankful that he has delivered me."

Testimony Tuesday: Christopher Free Intake pic - 07/24/2019 Current pic - 10/07/2019 "This is my Testimony: My name is Christopher Free I have went through hell with my drug addiction and was homeless living under a bridge in Fisherville until 07/20/19. I walked to Fisherville Baptist Church and asked the people there if they would give me a ride back to Memphis. During the ride back they were ministering to me and I accepted Jesus Christ whom is my Lord and Savior back into my life. They dropped me off at a friends house, which at the time I didn't know that she didn't have power in the house, but I stayed for one day. The second day I walked to Safe Harbor. Since then my life has changed. I now work a 40 hr week job, I have gained 23 pounds I have also learned patience. So I'm grateful to God for blessing me to have a second chance"
Testimony Tuesday: Rashad Dancy Intake pic - 9/16/2019 Current pic - 9/30/2019 "My name is Rashad I would like to think that I was recognized as a good person. I grew up in a home with my parents and my only sibling is my brother whom I love dearly. My parents were married and soon after they were divorced, but we still stayed together. There was lots of problems with my mother and my father but they managed to stay together. My mother worked in a hospital and my father was in the National Coast Guard so he was not home much and my mother was very strict and she was a Jehovah's Witness. I was sheltered most of my young life until my father started taking me to see his side of the family. This is when my eyes were opened to a different world which I fell in love with. I was able to celebrate my birthday and holidays and my brother in all this lost his way by going to prison for life and I followed in some of his steps by using drugs and drinking alcohol. By the age of 19 I had 2 kids and a very heavy substance abuse problem that I couldn't shake off. I went through years of trying different things, school being one of them. I got my barbers licence and did well until the demon came back and I slowly lost it all. My children grew up not knowing me and I had no one to blame but myself. And this is when I decided to end this wasteful life that I was living. I started seeking help and finally I was learning about myself and after a while I would fall off again and that's when I decided to just let God run this show that I kept messing up. I give God all the Glory in my life now because I found out half measure availed me nothing but misery. I will succeed by Gods Power and also by the instruction of God fearing People that are in my life."

09/24/2019 Testimony Tuesday: Tim AllenIntake Pic - 01/28/2019 Current Pic - 09/23/2019 "I am from New Orleans. I was a victim of Hurricane Katrina so I know how it feels to lose everything. My addiction started shortly after the storm hit. I was asked by my cousin to come back to New Orleans to help him rehab homes that he purchased. I got hooked up with old friends and they were doing drugs that I had never used before, I only smoked Marijuana and they were smoking cocaine in their cigarettes. It was not long after that I was hooked on crack from the peer pressure of my so called friends. I've been battling with this demon for over 11 years off and on. Now I can say after being in 5 rehabs and having near death experience and losing everything over and over, I'm happy to say that I have no desire of letting that demon enter this vessel again. God loves me so much that he turned my mess into a message and I thank Him for delivering me from that bondage."
Friday Night Bingo in Memphis!
09/17/2019 Testimony Tuesday: Mark Gonzalez Intake pic - 06/21/2019 Current pic - 09/16/2019 "Hi my name is Mark G. I’m 39yrs old and for the past 4yrs of my life I’ve been on a road of destruction and have no one to blame but myself. I started using drugs and when they were not available I would drink as much as I could. I started drinking so much I would end up regretting things I did to people and myself. I burnt all my bridges because I would go back and forth from drugs and alcohol until I would end up in jail and rehabs trying to make my wrongs right. This last time I ended up in jail I met this old timer who happened to be my cellmate and he made me realize I've been trying to get right for others all this time when I should have been trying to get right for myself. He told me about the Safe Harbor program and how I could start from the bottom and get my mind and my relationship with God right before I jump into trying to repair relationships with family and friends. So here I am 3 months sober rebuilding myself and regardless of what's going on around me with others I'm focused on myself and my future cause when it comes down to it, the only people I can depend on is my relationship with God and myself, and I'm really thankful that I met that old man in jail that told me about this program and for this program for giving me the tools to get my life back on track to be the man God wants me to be. So now I take it one day at a time and I don't worry about things I've done in my past but I focus on my future and making the right choices. I'm getting to old to be acting stupid about dealing with life and things I cant control, so now I let go and let Gods plan work his way and not mine."
How about the winners of bingo at Safe Harbor Memphis!
Testimony Tuesday: Jeremiah Johnson Intake Pic - 08/02/2019 Current Pic - 09/03/2019 "I have an addiction to alcohol and heroin that I have been struggling with for sometime now. My addiction has caused my family a lot of disappointment as well as myself. I've lost relationships with friends. I've lost jobs, and in the end was sleeping in my jeep. I was arrested in June of this year for second offense DUI and a probation violation. I was sick and tired of being in and out of jail. I heard about the program here at Safe Harbor and how great the success rate is for people in recovery. I'm happy that I chose Safe Harbor because the atmosphere is positive and the staff as well as the other people in recovery are friendly and helpful. I enjoy going to the classes and learning how to cope with my addictions. They also have excellent IOP program that I look forward to every week. I've been making great progress in the 32 days I have been here. I'm learning to let go of the past and define who I am. I've learned more here than I ever have anywhere else. I feel very grateful and accomplished with the progress I've made here."
Labor Day 2019
Testimony Tuesday - Andrew Tidwell - August 27, 2019 Intake pic - June 28, 2019 Current pic - August 26, 2019 “It started by seeing my parents party throughout my childhood. I picked up drugs and drinking by the age of 13. I started selling drugs in high school. I didn't think I was addicted until I lost my football scholarship by getting caught with weed and beer at school. After that everything went downhill. I became a garbage can junkie, started doing any and every drug, all day, everyday. In and out of jail. After serving 2 11/29's I did good until my grandfather passed away. I stayed high until I found out I was going to be a father. I stayed sober until my baby's mamma kept my daughter from me. I started getting high again until I had brain surgery from I.V. drug use. After that I stayed clean until September 2019, the day I got arrested. While I was in jail I lost custody of my daughter. They gave me a plea, that if I go to rehab and finish probation, I can get her back. So I chose Safe Harbor. Once I started it seemed like it was really tough with all the classes everyday. With the classes I have learned that if I schedule my time I wont have time to use and will think about it less often. With the savings plan, I have learned how to manage my money and use it on the things I actually need. But all in all I've learned if you do all those things and have a true relationship with God, you can do all the things you set your mind to. The staff members are living proof that anyone that truly wants to clean and sober can and will be. Since I've been here I've gotten a lot closer to God, became a better, and sober man!”
Testimony Tuesday - August 20, 2019: Robert White Intake pic - 06/17/2019 Current pic - 08/20/2019 “My name is Robert White this is a testimony of my life. I started at a young age in my life drinking and drugging which led me to roaming from state to state. I did a fifteen year stay in the department of corrections. I was released in the year 2009. I stayed sober up until the year 2018. I felt myself falling back into the same loop hole. After that feeling my fiance and I had a talk and I found myself here at Safe Harbor of Memphis since I have been here I have found peace within and humbled myself with guidance. I have become closer to God and by abiding in him and his word I can overcome all things. I can see the change in me and feel the 360 degree turn that I have made by making this decision”

Testimony Tuesday - Kevin Arnold Intake Pic - 12/07/2018 Current Pic - 07/21/2019 "My name is Kevin Arnold. I was brought up in the church, baptized at a young age, but I only knew of God. As I got older in my experiences, I got to know God but didn't have a lasting relationship with him. Many times I strayed and did thing that pulled me further away from him. For many years I was in a constant battle between good and evil. Later becoming a prisoner/causality of war. I was spiritually dead, I was lost. All the things I use to do that was fun to me was not fun anymore, all my bad habits became the normal. I cried out asking God why can't I stop? Asking him for help. I was in and out of rehab after rehab. Nothing worked. But God lead me to Safe Harbor of Memphis where I have been clean and sober for 7 and a half months. God delivered me from my strongholds, I thank God for his word and opening my eyes using Safe Harbor through Celebrate Recovery, anger management, 12 steps, and all the classes/workbooks. Now I only look to God through his son Jesus Christ for my maintenance and to maintain my deliverance. God was truly my refuge through Safe Harbor of Memphis."

Celebration Sunday - February 2019 During the celebration Sunday night I have never seen so much joy from so many family members. Mothers testifying and breaking down with tears of joy about how grateful they were for Safe Harbor and the program. A sister saying “my brother is a different person I can't believe it.” Another mother testifying about how many years she has waited to see her son with a changed attitude and how she was so thankful for Safe Harbor. The client you see standing here, notice the cane he is holding. He is the client I posted about going to the hospital one night after turning in his graduation package, only to find out he had a stroke and couldn't use his left side. After talking to him and his family member, I told him that if he was unable to attend the graduation ceremony I would bring it and present it to him. But his family came and brought him to attend. The emotions were very high. His name is Mr. George Love.
Congrats to our seven graduates! Having their families there for support was awesome

“Sitting at the Memphis Airport waiting for my flight to Washington, D.C. to represent Safe Harbor at a Conference on the Opioid Epidemic that is ravaging our country. This is an extreme “Honor” to have been invited by the White House to attend this Conference and cause the “Light” to shine a little brighter upon this great company that we get to serve God in and through. My thought of the day is: “ Remain humble and thankful because humility and thankfulness prepares you for honors. Pride and Arrogance prepares us for destruction and falls. We have the privilege to choose the path we walk. We really never know everything God is working out and preparing for us. Choose God today....” Safe Travels Pastor Ron

Fall Revival 2017
3rd night of revival in Memphis! The grace of the Lord was upon us, and we continue to see lives changed!
Safe Harbor of Memphis had another great revival night! Praise & Worship, The Word, Confession, Healing, and Testimonies. The anointing fell on the speaker and lives were changed!
Monday was the first night of the revival and it went off with a bang! The Holy Spirit was there and it took over. We started off with praise & worship. Pastor Kyle spoke from 2 King, the 5th Chapter verses 1 thru 14, about Naaman. Wow what a powerful word. 17 men rededicated their lives to the Lord! We are looking for another powerful night on Tuesday!
Proverb 28:20 Says "A faithful man will abound with blessings". Dwain Hicks, a student volunteer driver, was awarded a check in the amount of $100 for Pre-Trip Inspection. Because of his faithfulness and dedication, during a pre-trip inspection, Mr. Hicks discovered a problem that would have been a $2000 repair, had it gone unnoticed. Special Thanks to Mr. Hicks for following protocol and understanding the importance of pre-trip inspection.

Congratulations to Keith Taylor from our Memphis location for being awarded Reliable Student of the Quarter. Keith Works at Brims Snacks and is scheduled to graduate in October. This is our very first time ever doing this for the quarter. Each student was given a certificate, ceremony and $100.00 for their achievement!
May 2017 Our revival last week was a great success! The Spirit of God moved in an awesome way. I believe all the speakers were led by the Spirit of God in the word they spoke. Jesus said in John 3:8 "The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it come from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit." I can see it working in our participants as they realize a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ is the source of wisdom, patience, and power. We need to honor God, help others, and meet the challenges of today. These men want to have dominion over every thing as God said and not let it have dominion over them. - Pastor Charles Sims

Mission Update! Recently at Safe Harbor we have been working on improving our facility to better serve the 65+ men in our care. We are striving to do a Great Work at Safe Harbor of Memphis – both in house and in the community. We want you to join us in our quest to heal this WORLD one person at a time and a great way to make our participants feel important and valued is to have clean, up-to-date, and fresh facilities. These pictures represent some of the makeovers we have been working on to give our property a much needed face lift. I am asking you to be a part of our movement by donating money, time, or materials. Your contributions will help us to better care for the men we are helping rebuild their lives. You can sponsor building materials which can range from paint, tools, tile, landscaping, and more or sponsor hygiene products such as soaps, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, toilet paper, etc. EVERY donation is helpful! SUCCEED. DON’T GIVE UP. WORK HARD. BE DETERMINED. ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING. DREAM BIG. Let’s be encouraged – Safe Harbor has been focused on encouraging our participants that they can achieve their goals of a united family, health, sobriety, living drug-free, job security, independent living and more. We believe that in order for a circumstantial change to take place a mental, physical, and spiritual change must be made first. Recently we have posted inspirational quotes and posters throughout the mission to remind the men they are important and they CAN live the life they want. We all must set goals, work hard, and stay focused.
Congrats Graduates! "Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try" ~ John F Kennedy
